Sounds like something similar to the Flock browser idea, but with a slight twist. Interesting...

Great video. This is something i've been thinking about as well. I'd love to be able to control everything from one place, that sounds like the holy grail for social networking.Funnily enough, i've just deleted my Flikr site. I'm going to check out 'wordpress' now, to see what that offers. Thanks for the info :)

I think the closed social networks will need to be willing to do that in order to survive. If not, it's going to be the open networks who succeed while the closed ones fall.YouTube, or networks like it, will only act as the container, right. Like we were talking about...the important part is the connection. I don't care that YouTube hosts my videos. I don't want that. I want YouTube to share my videos with people, and to connect me. I'll keep the videos (and the content, comments, etc.).

Very interesting to hear all of this last night...almost the dry run...Is there, a way, do you think, that these closed social networks could end up being "channels" that this open sourced info is filtered through? For example, you control the content in that one central spot, but then YouTube is the container that it's displayed in? |
