dude hell no.. if u watch tom's other videos when hes solo or u listen to him in interviews he actually can play regular solos better than most professional guitarists.. he just got so indepth with regular guitar/ music theory that he found it to be boring so he tried to invent different sounds and techniques.. which is ingenious... he is one of the greatest if not the greatest guitarist of the 90's... (well u got guitarists like frusiciante (rhcp) but he may be better than him)
