Check out DMEHosting I have several domains hosted with them and I have always been very happy! They offer GREAT customer support and 100% uptime. I don't have any complaints at all with DMEHosting

Another problem is overselling of specs, something godaddy does as well. Also review sites, most of them are just paid ads or affilate programs setup only to make the site owner some money, and not very trust worthy. Asking others who they are happy with is a good idea.

another good webhost is calvinsnetwork(dot)co(dot)uk - excellent technical support and just quote "offermod" and they will install u one free module - either wordpress, php forum (phpbb) - or wikipedia :)
