hallo gibt Kiwi ... ,

It is due to the case. Good morning is short for I wish you a good morning. That is accusative case. The female accusative singular form of gut is gute. The male accusative singular form of gut is guten.

In German adjectives and articles depend on the noun's gender:THE bird (male word) = DER VogelTHE band (female word) = DIE BandTHE girl (neutral word) = DAS MädchenArticles and adjectives are declined:I can see THE bird (whom can I see?) = Ich kann DEN Vogel sehenI'm a fan of THE band (whose fan am I ?) = Ich bin ein Fan DER Band.I've been with THE girl (whom have I been with ?) = Ich war bei DEM Mädchen.I bet this makes as much sense to you as Latin made to me. LOL !
